Michigan Egress is a small family owned business. We have been installing egress windows since 2006. We have two great crews who have been with us for years and they know the ins and outs of this project. In Michigan, by code if you have a bedroom in the basement you must have an egress window, therefore most of our work comes from existing homeowners. 

A typical egress comes with a Low-E window (28x48/31x41) , well, ladder, grate and plastic cover. This is all installed after we have dug down to the foundation of the house, added drainage pipe and  made a new opening (cement cut) for the window. If the job already has an existing basement window then we add a glass block window above the egress window to make sure the measurements are up to code. This takes one day to install. We pull permits for all our jobs unless there is a special circumstance, for example we are doing a window for a builder who already added our window into his approved permit. Because of the pandemic the permits are taking longer than usual so I would say a minimum of 2 weeks to get it approved after the homeowner has signed the proposal. We do have the ability to custom order different window sizes but that can be discussed with the homeowner during an estimate. Prices vary for every job but the general price range for a standard install is $4,000-5,000. We are located in Roseville and Wixom, and serve approximately a 60 mile radius.
